SPL Research

The SPL research involved contributions from 32 researchers and were featured in over 150 publications, including leading journal articles, 4 books, and 7 Ph.D. dissertations. Our studies are still going on, and continuously improve our products.

Vision

Our research looks for ways to transform managers into business and innovation leaders, and turn project management into a business-focused process. Instead of looking for “best practices,” we use “active research” to develop “next practices.”

Motivation and History

Over two decades of SPL research were motivated by the need to improve project performance in industry and government by first identifying missing links and building new frameworks to complement traditional tools.

Five Research Streams 

Studies were focused on five different research streams that were gradually integrated into one common framework.

Who Was Involved

We enjoyed contributions from 32 scholars and researchers, who covered a wide range of disciplines and interests. We are thankful to all of them.

Institutions and Data

Studies were supported by eight grants and four universities. We are grateful for their generous support. We collected data on over 1000 projects, in eight different datasets.
